EVERYONE can improve the sound of their voice

You CAN learn to sing with a voice that is Beautiful, Powerful & Unique

With all the conflicting information available about the voice it is no surprise that singers often do things that create a sound with very little power, range, pitch control, endurance or sound quality.  Below are descriptions of the most common voice problems to help you determine if you are doing things that harm your voice and keep you from reaching your full singing potential

Learn a technique specific for developing the full voice so you can sing all contemporary music.  Sing Rock, Pop, Soul, R&B, Country, Jazz and all other styles of music you love.  Beginner to advanced.

· ELIMINATE WHAT RESTRICTS YOUR VOICE:

·       FLIPPING INTO YOUR HEAD / HIGHER REGISTER:  Do you flip between your stronger chest voice to a softer/airy head voice making you sound uneven and lacking control?  You feel confident when singing in a comfortable part of your range but cannot seem to hit the notes and possibly dislike the sound of your voice in other parts.  This happens when only one part of your range is developed.  One part gets stronger while the other part gets weaker.  The contrast between these two area result in cracks and breaks.  The more out of balance your voice becomes the more cracks and breaks you develop.  You will likely start developing a slight fear when approaching high notes.  Proper technique and exercises are needed to balance your entire voice, from the lowest notes up to the highest notes.  Doing improper exercises will result in either the problem not being fixed or the problem getting worse.  Failing to develop your entire range will result in only one register being developed (in other words only half your range is developed).  Singing songs becomes harder as you will either not be able to hit the low notes or the high notes will be too weak and difficult to reach.  You may push or stain to hit notes, which leads me to the next most common voice problem………pushing!

·     PUSHING AND STRAINING TO HIT HIGH NOTES AND PRODUCE VOLUME:  Do you push to sing high or difficult notes?  Do you jam the sound into place causing neck muscle tension and strain on your voice?  Do you sometimes sing with a nasal sound?  This is due to weak voice muscles and improper breathing techniques.  We have a mental image of where we want the voice to go but lack the knowledge and strength to sing it so we push and strain attempting to get the voice to do what it cannot do naturally.  Singers mistakenly think that if they keep doing the same thing over and over the voice will get stronger. It will not!  In fact, “practice does not make perfect” as the saying goes, “practice makes permanent”.  If you are doing wrong things you reinforce what harms your voice and keeps you from singing well.  Doing the right exercises specific for your voice issues and learning the singers’ breath will allow you to release the pressure and strain from your voice while singing.  What felt fatiguing on you and your voice becomes effortless and pleasing to the listener.

·       NO POWER WHEN YOU SING:  Do you sing with a soft voice that lacks power?  Is it difficult for people to hear you?  Singing in your head voice, also known as head register, will not produce the solid foundation and grounding your voice needs to sing with control and power.  You cannot get the volume you need so you push and often even need to yell just to be heard.

These three problems are very tiring for the singer and puts strain on the vocal cords often making the singer hoarse, often causing voice damage.  The sound produced is forced and unpleasing to the listener.  You do not have flexibility in your voice so creating your style and singing freely is impossible.  Often the singer instinctively knows something is wrong but does not know what to do about it.  I can help.

While this is common they are not part of your natural and healthy voice.  I will tell you why you are doing what you do and how to correct it.

UNLEASH YOUR VOICE  -  Your Unseen Advantage:

Educational Kinesiology is one of the things many people have used to speed up the learning process and move far beyond their current abilities and often beyond the abilities of their competition.  It is whole brain learning.

Educational Kinesiology is incorporated into my voice training method, should the student want it included.  It is a series of movements that enhance learning and performance.  The left and right sides of the brain come into balance.  Participants see rapid improvement in reading, writing, math etc. as well as focus, listening, concentration, communication, memory etc.  It is also used to alleviate anxiety and depression.

The same movements used to balance these areas are applied to voice training allowing for a more creative and unique result rather then being stuck in a routine of standard voice exercises that rarely produce the voice you desire.

These movements are used in 90 countries by companies such as Reebok, Chapters-Indigo, Ralph Lauren Footwear, York University, McMaster University, University of Waterloo and the University of Toronto Teachers Education Program to name a few.

Athletes have used their minds to excel for years.  Now business professional, schools and individuals such as you and me, as examples, use these movements to “get the edge” and to develop beyond the point they could have otherwise.  I’m all for that !!!!

BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS:

Forward thinking people know that the way you speak is essential to grow and prosper professionally.  Your voice determines 40% of what most influences a listener.  Why do so few people receive the necessary training needed to capture the attention of their audience?

Expand your communication skills through vocal training.  Build confidence and inner strength making people eager to listen to what you have to say.  Improve your ability to speak in public, to deliver training or presentations.

TAKE THE NEXT STEP:

If you have never had an opportunity to talk, at no cost, with a Vocal Coach about your voice and goals now may be the time.

I offer a free no pressure opportunity to receive feedback on your voice.  I am able to hear things that an untrained ear cannot.  The information I provide will be insightful.

All singers need training.  It’s just that simple!  If you don’t have the right information you will never develop your voice to the full potential it has.  Time and finances play an important role when learning how to sing.  Some people are able to take lessons on a weekly basis while others have a Vocal Assessment and may work with a training CD to keep the cost down.  Others may come sporadically when time and finances allow.  The way you do it is not important. What is important is that you do it.

If you are passionate about singing and developing a voice that is pleasing to you and the people who listen to you I strongly suggest you consider taking the next step.
